Western Bay of Plenty - Tauranga

Whether it's enjoying the tastes of Te Puke, the 'Kiwifruit Capital of the World', shopping in downtown Tauranga; the sights of Katikati, 'New Zealand's Mural Town' or spending time relaxing at Waihi Beach, or Mount Maunganui Beach, some of the District's many tranquil coastal havens, the Western Bay offers something for everyone.

The Western Bay of Plenty Newcomers group meets for coffee every Wednesday at the Tauranga Historic Village, and at many other events around the region, please join us, we would love to meet you!

Co-ordinator - Janet Smith

Tauranga-Janet-Smith

Hi. I am Janet Smith and I'm the co-ordinator of the Western Bay of Plenty Newcomers Network and also the Tauranga Regional Multicultural Council. I moved to the "sunny" Bay of Plenty in 2008 with my husband Derek and our pet Golden Labrador dog, Jake. We very much enjoy living so close to some of the best beaches in New Zealand and Jake loves his swims in the Pacific Ocean. Our son Ian is living & working in England but hopefully will come to have a holiday here later in the year.

I have found it easy to understand & assist with the problems experienced by our Newcomers Network members because I have experienced some of these settlement issues myself.

I look forward to welcoming you to our weekly Wednesday Club – come & have a cup of coffee and a chat with our friendly new members.
