Today our walk group is heading the ghost town of St Bathan’s, where apparently a friendly ghost resides in the Vulcan Hotel.
Formerly a mining town which at it’s peak had 200 people, it now has a population of 6! The Blue lake was formed by the gold mining activities, which were stopped when the hole got too close to the town. Minerals give the lake it’s vivid blue colour.
There are two walking options: a 90 min loop around the lake or a shorter 40 min walk
