Chatham Islands Newcomers Network
The Chatham Islands are a picturesque group of 10 islands with a total population of approximately 600 people. Chatham and Pitt Islands are the only inhabited islands. We are the first to see the sun, located 800km from mainland New Zealand we are 45 minutes ahead of mainland time.
Our brand new Newcomers Network is about to start in Waitangi! If you are keen to join us please give me a call or email. We will be posting some newcomers events soon.

Our Coordinator: Orrin Kapua
Kia Ora my name is Orrin and I am happy to be the new Chatham Island Newcomers Network Coordinator. I would like to personally welcome you to this spectacular part of the world and even though things may seem overwhelming at times with the right help and support it may make island life integration easier. I too have recently moved to the island with my family as my partner is originally from the island and we are currently setting up home here. I will be able to give you lived experience, possible shortcuts and support as you adjust to life here on the Chatham Islands. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
