Alexandra is a thriving town in the heart of Central Otago, New Zealand. It’s known as the hottest, driest and coldest town in New Zealand and is a popular destination for national and international visitors. Whether it be during the heat of summer or the cold, crisp winter days, Alexandra has four distinct seasons and is a unique place at any time of the year. Visitors enjoy the many eateries, wineries, parks, artists’ studios and the golf courses on offer. If you enjoy getting out into the wide, open spaces, there are many opportunities for recreation including boating, swimming, fishing or exploring the hills and valleys by foot, mountain bike or four-wheel drive.

Coordinator - Trudy, Trish, Liz and Sharleen

Welcome to Alexandra!  We are a group of locals that love our town and enjoy sharing that joy with others.  Trudy Anderson, Trish Evans, Liz Perkins and Sharleen Stirling-Lindsay are working together to establish the Alexandra Newcomers Group. Trudy has been in Alexandra for most of her life. She works for Volunteering Central, loves being a Mum and enjoys the outdoors. Trish is an active retiree who moved here several years ago and now volunteers at the Alexandra Community Advice Network. Liz is a business coach, restauranteur and is involved in many things local including the local Women in Business group.  Sharleen moved to Alexandra 12 months ago and has immersed herself in many community groups including becoming chair of the local Community Board and working at Alexandra Youth Base. We would love to hear from you!
